Driven By Hope

If there is one truth we have witnessed again and again at OnRamp, it is this: people can overcome tremendous challenges when they refuse to lose HOPE. As Andy says in Shawshank Redemption, “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things.” We have seen so many of our clients rise above seemingly insurmountable obstacles on the wings of hope, which can be humbling for those of us who’ve lived a comfortable middle-class life.

We have watched single parents claw their way to financial stability, former addicts doggedly pursue sobriety one day at a time, and young adults without any family support complete an education even at great cost. All of these clients were motivated by hope that God would lead them to a better future.

One of the most sacred moments in our ministry is when we get to reward a client with a vehicle after they’ve completed a huge milestone in life, such as reaching the three year point of sobriety or completing their GED. The gifted vehicle is our opportunity to fulfill the hope that got them to this point. It’s our chance to show the world that hope does not disappoint; that hope combined with discipline and humility can lead people to a better future no matter how far they’ve fallen in the past. It is our proof to the world that your past failures do not define your future possibilities. God can do greater things in you and for you if you will simply cling to hope!

Hope is not just a tagline for OnRamp. When we launched nine years ago, we summarized the point of our ministry in the graphic below. We are driven by HOPE to lift from poverty, change communities, enable employment, promote independence, change children’s futures, empower the overlooked, and demonstrate God’s LOVE!

Will you join us in spreading HOPE in our community? If so, we encourage you to share the picture below on your social media and tag “@OnRampTX” and “@OnRampDFW"

Help us spread the word that there is always HOPE through Jesus for a better future!
