Did you know that if a vehicle OnRamp gifts a client wears out in their first year of ownership, we replace it for free? While very rare, it is an essential way that we provide the firm financial foundation our clients need to grow and thrive. Last year, we gifted Sam, one of our favorite clients, an older Honda Odyssey, knowing that its days were likely numbered. We assured her that if it did break down, we’d be ready to replace it. That day came last week when a series of defects snowballed. Sam’s van simply couldn’t be repaired affordably, and as a result, her progress was in jeopardy. This single mom of five kids has gone so far to provide for her children after fleeing an abusive situation. She now works at Project Unity and has used the older van we gifted her to provide countless rides to program participants. She consistently goes with less to give others more, and she treats everyone like they’re a walking image of Christ. She is exactly the kind of person OnRamp exists to serve!

So without hesitation, we gathered last Friday to gift her a much newer replacement Odyssey! This one was donated by a kind local family who realized their no-longer-needed minivan could give another family a hand up in life. We partnered extensively with the good folks at Christian Brothers Automotive Bryan to serve Sam. Not only did they do all they could to keep the older van running, but they also prepared this new beautiful minivan for her. All their repair work for OnRamp was done with professional excellence at significantly discounted prices. The whole shop got to know Sam so well this last year, and grew to love her so much that they invited us to do the donation at their shop so they could congratulate her.

We are so grateful for clients like Sam and partners like Christian Brothers Automotive that make this ministry possible. A mom and her five awesome kids have new hope and security because of this partnership!
