We have three exciting updates for you! Let’s start with our most recent client, #236. While we’re unable to share his identity or full story, he graciously allowed us to share this part of his journey. Pictured here is the moped he relied on before receiving his OnRamp vehicle. While mopeds are common for college students here in Aggieland and work well for around-campus commuting, this client had to ride over 14 miles on high speed roads to get to and from his job. This was exceptionally unsafe. Additionally, he had no room for groceries or for his kids to ride with him, which made life extremely difficult. That’s why we were thrilled to gift him a reliable Toyota Camry that a generous local family gifted to us! Their kindness provided the safety, comfort, and durability he and his family needs to move forward. If you have a gently used Camry, Corolla, or other Toyota or Honda vehicle that you want to use for a good cause, fill out this brief form. We can use it to change another life in the Brazos Valley.
Second, our founder, Blake Jennings, was recently invited to preach at Salt City, a local church. This was actually his first time preaching in over four years! This was a welcome opportunity to teach about God’s heart for the poor and vulnerable as revealed in the Old Testament and what that means for our lives. You can listen to his message on this podcast.
Finally, we are thrilled to announce the start of OnRampDFW’s first full-time Executive Director, Taylor Russell. He has faithfully volunteered on the Client Care team for the past year and a half, demonstrating true passion for the OnRamp ministry in Dallas / Ft Worth. After he attended his first vehicle giveaway he realized “This is what I want to do with my life." The dedicated way he has voluntarily given of his time and talent since then proved it wasn’t just a fleeting feeling. Taylor’s character and leadership have been evident for the past few years as he’s pastored and taught at Woodcreek Church in Richardson, TX. He holds a Masters of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and has served a stint overseas with Cru. He and his wife Emily are parents to two young boys. If you live in DFW, we invite you to donate to OnRampDFW to help fund this exciting growth of their ministry. God has big things in store for the twin cities!
