Sometimes a donated vehicle is not the right fit for an OnRamp client. It may be too expensive to maintain or have too many miles. In that case, we sell the donated vehicle on the fair market and use the funds to buy more simple, reliable cars such as Toyota Corollas and Camry’s and Honda Accords and Civics.

***Important tax information: vehicle donations to OnRamp are tax-deductible as allowed by law, but if the vehicle is worth more than $5000, you must secure an independent, professional appraisal before donating in order to claim the vehicle’s full value on your tax return. Details are available in IRS Publication 561. OnRamp, as the recipient, is not permitted to provide this service or guide you in the appraisal.
